Tips For Maintaining Athlectic Uniforms

Custom team uniforms

If there is one thing every parent is very familiar with, it is the constant race to keep up with their kids activities, and if their child play’s sports, fighting the losing battle of keeping them in sports uniforms, socks, shoes, and supplies.

The fact is that your child’s soccer team uniforms, football team uniforms, and other athletic apparel will get dirty, worn out, and torn. But there are measures you can take to make sure that they last for at least a little longer than they would otherwise — saving you some extra money, time, and effort. Check out those tips right here:

Reinforce
Depending on the sport, and the child, you should be able to predict where the worst of the wear will be. Take the time to reinforce those areas with a few strong stitches and some extra fabric — it may even help to make them more comfortable while they play. For instance, kids with baseball team uniforms may need reinforced knees for basemen, and a reinforced bottom for those crouching catchers.

Soak Them
Those poor uniforms already get a sound beating out on the field or the court, why put them through anymore rough and tumble in the washing machine? For an easy and gentle clean, try soaking the uniform in warm water and castile soap and letting it air dry on a line. Plus, you will most likely save on both water and electricity bills, considering how often it is necessary to wash filthy athletic uniforms after practices and games several times a week.

Buy Them On Sale
This doesn’t help with prolonging the life of the uniforms, but it does help you prepare for the future, especially if you have several children. When team apparel companies have sales, don’t be afraid to stock up.

Whether your child plays baseball, which more than 100 countries participate in, or lacrosse, which is played worldwide by more than 250,000 players, they’ll need proper athletic uniforms. While it is mostly worth it to invest in high quality uniforms to protect them during play, it is in everyone’s best interest to make an effort to preserve them for as long as possible.
